Bladen County Health Department provides immunizations to prevent the spread of communicable diseases including:
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella
- Hib / Pneumococcal
- Hepatitis B / Hepatitis A
- Tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Flu
- Meningococcal
For best protection, children should be immunized by age 2. Immunizations are offered daily at the Health Department by appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted.
The Health Department utilizes the North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR).
This is an electronic system of record keeping which is utilized state wide by the health departments. Upon completion of data entry, the parent is printed a shot record with the North Carolina State Seal as a water mark.
