The Animal Control Board meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October. Meetings are scheduled to be held at: Bladen County Health Department

Bladen County Animal Control Ordinance
• Partners with local veterinarians for community rabies vaccination clinics
• Responds to the communities reports, including but not limited to animal bites, neglect, abuse, abandoned animals, stray animals and aggressive animals
• Investigates animal bites
• Investigates rabies cases
• Enforces state rabies vaccination and bite statues
• Partners with 501c3 rescue organizations to provide adoption options for pets
• Temporarily houses homeless pets awaiting adoption
Animal Shelter Hours:
The shelter is open to the public for all animal-related services, during the following hours:
Animal Drop Off Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Animal Pickup Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Adoptions Monday -Friday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Saturday Closed Sunday Closed
Closed for lunch daily 12:00 pm-1:00 pm
Emergency service hours
The animal services team promptly responds to animal emergencies during non-business hours. Any situation in which a domestic or wild animal is creating a danger to the public is considered an emergency. Call 911 for all emergency calls and they will contact the Animal Control Officer on-call.
